World Financial Innovation Series
April 15 – 16, 2024
Melia Hanoi, Vietnam
Despite its relative infancy, Vietnam’s fintech sector is experiencing rapid growth, projected to exceed $18 billion by the year 2024. The country has emerged as a magnet for investment, attracting significant capital, with notable achievements such as raising $375 million in funding during the third quarter of 2021.
This growth is attributed to several factors, including supportive government policies aimed at fostering economic expansion, a population that embraces mobile technology, and a substantial number of opportunities for industry involvement. Over the past six years, the fintech industry in Vietnam has expanded by more than fivefold, with 95% of Vietnamese banks actively adopting the latest technologies for digital transformation.
In response to this burgeoning sector, both the Ministry of Finance and the State Bank of Vietnam have collaborated to establish a regulatory sandbox, aimed at promoting technological innovation within the financial ecosystem. Furthermore, Vietnam’s Prime Minister has endorsed the pilot use of cryptocurrency by the State Bank of Vietnam. The government’s overarching agenda now focuses on the complete digital transformation of the Vietnamese economy through the National Digital Transformation Programme.
In collaboration with the Vietnam Banks Association (VNBA), the World Financial Innovation Series is returning to Vietnam this year to provide a direct avenue for engagement with the country’s financial services industry. The event, which will take place on April 15 and 16, 2024, at the Melia Hanoi, will convene over 500 technology and business leaders from prominent banks, insurance companies, and micro-finance institutions across the nation.
The event will comprise three main components:
A conference featuring presentations by industry leaders on key topics and enriched by Q&A sessions, serving as a platform for thought leadership and the dissemination of cutting-edge knowledge essential for the growth of the business community;
An exhibition where organizations will have the opportunity to showcase their offerings to pre-qualified delegates in real-time, utilizing technology to enhance their demonstrations and generate leads from top companies in the industry; and
An exclusive networking session designed to facilitate informal interactions among attendees, fostering connections with industry peers, thought leaders, and potential customers.
